Job Responsibilities
Provide general clerical, secretarial, and administrative support to the department.
Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and confidential documentation.
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters, and telephone enquiries.
Schedule meetings, appointments, and prepare relevant documentation when required.
Input, update, and retrieve information from internal systems and databases.
Support managers and team members with day-to-day administrative tasks.
Ensure compliance with council procedures, policies, and health and safety requirements.
Assist with document preparation, data entry, photocopying, scanning, and distribution of information.
Liaise professionally with internal departments, external agencies, and members of the public.
Work effectively to meet deadlines and maintain service standards.
Person Specification
Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and data entry.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Eligible to work in the UK with all required documentation verified.
